NEW YEARS OOTN

Hey guys, it's been a while! Hope all your holidays were great :) 2015 is coming fast so we thought a New Years Outfit post could be helpful if any of you are having trouble finding the perfect outfit. We both came up with two outfits, one for a more casual party setting and the other for a fancier event. Hope you guys enjoy this post and maybe get some inspiration. Happy new year!

Casual Party Looks
So, these first two looks are for a more relaxed setting. Maybe a house party or something low key with your friends. Whatever it is, these outfits are things you can throw on while still looking good and put together.

So the first outfit I chose is simple and casual but still features elements that dress the outfit up and make it more "party like". To make the outfit pop out more I added the pink and fluffy jacket to go over top of my all black outfit. The jacket adds colour and texture that makes the outfit more interesting. New years is the perfect time to wear something fun!

Cropped tank top - American Apparel
Black Easy Jeans - American Apparel
                                                   Pink Fluffy Jacket - H&M
                                                   Buckled Boots- H&M
I added these simple buckled boots to dress the outfit up. A heel is an easy way to tie your outfit together, while adding height! New years is the perfect setting to wear heels!

The outfit I chose was something easy and really comfortable. It's the little details that really make this outfit more dressed up and perfect for a casual party setting. I paired a simple long basic white tee with black leggings. But the shirt has slits up the sides and the leggings have leather panels, these details enhance the outfit. I threw over top a long black fuzzy cardigan to keep warm, but because of the combination of textures the outfit is spiced up!

                                                            White Shirt - New York
                                                            Leggings - Dynamite
                                                            Fuzzy Cardigan - H&M
                                                            Cut Out Boots - Amazon

These shoes are definitely fun, and New Years is the perfect time experiment and get dressed up! Pairing these crazy shoes with my more casual outfits really balances them both out.

A little more dressed up
So these next two outfits are on the fancier side, you could wear them to a cocktail party or perhaps a work event. Both these outfits are appropriate for whichever function while still maintaining a party vibe!

Although it's winter I chose to go bare legs, I figured I'd be inside most of the night anyway! So I paired this plaid skirt with a black chiffon structured shirt and blazer that really gives off a professional feeling. Although I'm wearing a blazer, I'm still wearing a mini skirt and some funky wedges so the outfit isn't boring. I think it's a good balance between professional and fun!
                                                           Blazer - H&M
                                                           Structured Shirt - Forever 21
                                                           Plaid Skirt - Forever 21
                                                           Cut Out Wedges - H&M
The skirts zipper detailing adds to the outfit and gives it more detail, since there too isn't much.

I chose to go with a simple little black dress but added this crazy jacket to go over top. It adds a lot more spunk to this simple outfit. Although the jacket is crazy it is still appropriate and functional to wear to any type of event. A classier event doesn't mean you must sacrificer your style!
                                                         Tank Top Dress - Dynamite
                                                         Jacket - Value Village
                                                         Boots - Aldo
These boots are a huge trend this year and in fact quite comfortable. They are so versatile! I picked these to go with my outfit because you can't go wrong with a black dress and chunky boots!
If it gets hot and you end up taking off the jacket you can show off the cut outs of the dress!

I hope you guys enjoy this post and get some ideas for your New Years outfit! Let us know what you think of the four outfits! See you all in the New Year! :)

FALL LOOKBOOK

SHIRT-ZARA
JACKET-URBAN OUTFITTERS
RIPPED JEANS-ZARA
For my first outfit I went for a cooler look. The leather jacket and ripped jeans made the outfit a bit more edgy. Ripped jeans have been really trendy this year for all seasons, you can basically pair them with any shoe. For this look I chose to go with my black boots to make the outfit more fall like.

TATTOO CHOKER-DIY
NECKLACE-BLUE BANANA

SUNGLASSES - KENSINGTON MARKET

CARGO PANTS - J BRAND
SHOES - FOREVER21
SWEATER - TOPSHOP
SHIRT - ZARA
The weather recently has been on and off, the day starts out cold and warms up or it's supposed to be sunny all day and end up with storms. For my first outfit, I thought layering was a good idea because sometimes fall weather is unpredictable and it's always good to be able to put on or take off a layer. Black and white are super simple and easily paired with anything so I decided my pink sunglasses would be perfect to go along with this outfit.

JACKET-FOREVER 21
BOOTS-H&M
For my second outfit I wanted something more fun and dressy, while still being warm. I paired my Urban Outfitters skirt with my Forever 21 sweater to create a casual but still fun look. By adding the longer coat and knee socks I could still keep warm on a fall day. All of these pieces worked together to create a weather friendly but still trendy outfit.

SKIRT-URBAN OUTFITTERS

For my second outfit I decided to go with something that could be extremely casual or made into something more sophisticated. Again I layered a sweater and a t-shirt but this time with blue jeans and a pair of boots. The heel makes the outfit come off as a little older and put together but for a more casual look I could wear the same thing with my Forever 21 slip ons from earlier and get a completely different effect.

COLLECTIVE SUMMER HAUL

So this is the proper post for Wednesday, a little look at some of the things I've bought so far this summer. I do a lot of online shopping in the middle of the night because sometimes you just need to send yourself a present ya know? Anyways, I spent a lot of money in the past couple of weeks and I thought I'd share it with you so here we go:

The first thing I got are these vegan leather cut out shoes. They're supposed to be a dupe for the Balenciaga buckle ankle boots ($1,275 at Barney's and Neiman Marcus) which are slightly out of my price range. They're not an exact replica but still nice and comfortable for a fraction of the price of what the originals cost. I ordered them online from this Amazon store where there were quite a few reviews, mostly good so I took my chances and got them. I ordered a size 7 which is usually my size and they fit but I probably could have sized down to a 6.5 for a slightly more snug fit. The cost was $29.99 before tax, shipping and after both were added they came to just under $50 which I don't find outrageous for shoes but maybe that's just me!

I think that I actually make monthly orders off the Urban Outfitters website. It's so much better than the store and there's always actually stuff that is worth buying. Generally I can fill my cart with things from the sale section and that's exactly what I did here.

The first item is this BDG vegan leather tote bag. It was on sale for $19.99 from $59 and also comes in a tie dye blue colour. It's so soft and can fit a surprising amount inside of it which is good for school. It has 2 shorter straps and 1 longer one so you have different options for how you carry it, personally I only use the short straps but it's nice to be able to switch it up.

Next is this very low-cut in the back, low-cut in the sides and high-cut in the crotch one piece. I love one-piece bathing suits but it can be really hard to find a nice one that isn't super frumpy. The bathing suit I originally had in mind was one from american apparel that's almost identical to this just minus the white trim. I got this in a medium and paid $9.99 marked down from I think $30 or $40 which in my book is a steal. It's quite revealing for a one piece but this is the look I wanted to it's perfect.

Again, I got another bathing suit. This top is BOND by Chromat Mala and was marked own to $39.99 from $83. Normally I wouldn't pay that much for a bikini top but this one is so different from anything else I own and it's quite supportive so I've actually been wearing it as a bralette as well. I got this in a medium as well and it fits perfectly. The criss crossing neckline is a little different but that's what I really liked about it, the only thing to avoid is a strappy tan line!
My last Urban Outfitters purchase this time around were these sunflower print bikini bottoms. I bought them to go with all the black bikini tops I have because it's more fun to mix and match sometimes. They were $9.99 marked down from $39 which again is more than 50% off and a great deal for a bathing suit. I got a medium and they're a tiny bit too big but I think that is mostly due to the cut outs in the band.

This is the bathing suit we used in the Summer Beach Bag Essentials post so you've already seen a bit of it before. I ordered this online near the beginning of the summer from sheinside.com. I was very skeptical about their website but I read tons of reviews and decided to make an order. I ordered a pair of distressed jean short, a white asymmetrical t-shot (both of these are packed right now) and this bathing suit. I ordered it in a medium and I was disappointed to find that the top just doesn't fit. The top is made for someone with a small cup size but large actual chest/ band size which I'm the opposite of which sucks but I'm going to see if there's anything I can do about it. The bottoms fit great though and I love the caging on both the top and bottom. The bikini cost $23.90 which sadly I don't think it's worth but what can you do.

And finally, last item in the longest post ever is this pair of overalls I picked up from the goodwill near my house. There is no size and they were $8 but I've been looking for another pair for a while. I already have 2 that are shorts and 1 that's a dress so I'm not sure whether I'm going to leave these as is, distress them or cut them. This isn't the only thing I bought, I actually bought 2 more pairs of pants that I'm debating whether or not to make a post on how to distress or cut your own denim. I didn't include them because they're honestly not very nice but with a little bit of work they will be so stay tuned for the maybe.

I hope you guys enjoyed this haul, I know there's a lot of commentary but I wanted to make sure you could have a full review just in case you want to go out and buy any of this stuff. Let us know in the comments below or on tumblr what kind of posts you'd like to see from us of link us to any hauls that you've done this summer!
